HARRISONBURG, Va. – Coming off of a 2-0 road trip, EMU Men's Soccer looked to replicate that success in their home opener against John Jay College. Despite outshooting the visitors 24-12, the Royals could not break through in their home opener, falling 1-0 to the Bloodhounds on Friday afternoon at the EMU Turf Field.

- The Royals dictated the tempo early, firing 10 shots and earning seven corner kicks in the first half, but the match remained scoreless at the break.
- 50' | The Bloodhounds broke the stalemate early in the second half. Josh Clemas found space inside the box and slotted home the eventual game-winner, assisted by Alejandro De Jesus and John Gahuancela. It is Clemas' fifth goal of the season, which puts him among the leaders in Division III.Â
- EMU piled on the pressure in response, taking 14 more shots in the second half. The Royals also earned 15 corners to John Jay's two, but they could find the equalizer.Â
