BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The EMU Diamond Royals played their second game in as many days, heading down the road to Bridgewater for the latest rendition of the Route 42 Rivalry. Unfortunately, this round went the way of the Eagles as they routed the Royals, 11-1.

- The Eagles struck first with an RBI single in the first inning to go up 1-0.
- Nick Arnold blasted his team-leading fifth home run of the season to knot up the score at 1-1 in the top of third.
- The tie was short-lived as Bridgewater tacked on two runs in the bottom half of the third to go back out front, 3-1.
- The Eagles flew away from the Royals with an eight-run fifth inning to go up 11-1. EMU was unable to answer, and the 10-run rule took effect to end the game early after seven innings.Â

EMU Baseball hopes to turn things around when they travel to Hampden-Sydney for an ODAC doubleheader this Saturday, April 5. First pitch of game one against the Tigers is scheduled for 12 p.m.
