First Inning
- The Royals got on the board, as Grace Fravel, EMU's leadoff batter, cranked a pitch over the center field fence for her first home run of the season, and a 1-0 lead. Two batters later, Meaghan Dean did the same thing with a solo home run, giving EMU a 2-0 lead.
- Destiny Jones followed that up with a single and Sydney Orndorff walked. Both runners stole a base, putting runners on second and third, and Arbaugh walked, loading the bases. Emerson Adkins drew a walk to drive in a run, chasing the Oberlin starting pitcher. After an infield fly, a wild pitch plated another run, putting the Royals ahead 4-0 after one.
- The Yeowomen added a run in their half of the first after a single, an error and a sac fly scored a run. But on the sac fly, the runner going from second to third was thrown out to end the threat.
Second Inning
- Overby picked up a one-out single in the second and promptly stole second, but it didn't matter as Dean drove a ball over the left-center fence for a two-run home run and a 6-1 EMU lead.
Fourth Inning
- Neither team was able to put any runs on the board until the bottom of the fourth, when a walk, a single and a ground out put runners on second and third. A single up the middle drove in a pair of runs and the runner went to second on the throw. But Arbaugh got out of the jam by inducing a pop out to keep the score at 6-3.
Sixth Inning
- Both teams went down in order in the fifth and Oberlin worked around a one-out walk in the sixth. In the bottom of the sixth, an infield single, a ground out and another single, scored a run, cutting EMU's lead to 6-4.
- Graham came to the circle and two singles later, the bases were loaded. But she got a pop out to the catcher to get out of the inning with EMU's lead still intact.
Seventh Inning
- EMU put a runner on third, but a double play ended things for the Royals, sending the game to the bottom of the seventh.
- Oberlin led off the inning with a single, but a strike out, a ground out and a fly out, ended the game, securing the EMU win.
