LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The EMU Baseball team had Georgia on their minds on Wednesday, traveling to the northern part of the Peach State for a showdown with Covenant College (Ga.). Unfortunately, despite a quick start, the Royals dropped their second game in as many days, falling to the Scots by a final score of 17-5.
Daniel McGinnis and
Erik Wilkinson led the way offensively for EMU, each going 2-for-4 at the dish.

Highlights
- The Royals got off to a fast start in the top of the first inning. It all started when Chris Polymeropoulos and Aidan Miller executed a double steal, and then Polymeropoulos reached home on a throwing error by the Scots' catcher to make it 1-0, EMU.
- McGinnis then sent Miller home on an RBI single up the middle. McGinnis then scored himself when Josh Gjormand hit into a fielder's choice. Jett Cabanban put the cherry on top of the early rally with a 2-RBI double to left center. That gave the Royals a 5-0 lead after one inning of play.
- Sadly, it was all Scots from there. Covenant ate into EMU's lead with three runs in the fourth inning, and then they took the lead for good with four more runs in the fifth, making the score Covenant 7, EMU 5.
- The Scots then added 10 more runs to wrap up the game after seven innings of play.
