Highlights
First Inning
- The Panthers once again scored in the opening inning, using a single, a double another single and an error to plate two off Gough. But with the bases loaded, Gough got a big strike out to limit UPB's damage. EMU had a pair of base runners in their half of the first, but couldn't push anyone across as Pitt-Bradford led 2-0 after one.
Second Inning
- The Panthers had runners on first and third with just one out in the second, before Haley Lambert replaced Gough in the circle. Lambert gave up a walk to load the bases, but got out of the inning with a ground out to third to keep EMU's deficit to two.
- Janie Young led off the second with a double but was thrown out at home after Morris picked up a two-out base hit.
Fourth and Fifth Innings
- Pitt-Bradford pushed a third run across in the fourth after the lead off batter was hit by a pitch, stole second and came in to score on an RBI base hit.
- EMU got on the board in their half of the fifth, with Morris walking and Fravel and Overby both singling to load the bases. Dean reached on a fielder's choice to the pitcher, but Morris was able to score on an error. D. Jones followed that up with an RBI single up the middle, plating Fravel and sending Overby to third.
- Orndorff drove a ball deep into center field and the Panthers center fielder made a great catch, and was able to double up Overby, who didn't tag, thinking the ball was over the center fielder's head. A ground out ended the threat, but EMU had cut their deficit to one.
Sixth and Seventh Innings
- UPB got those runs back in the sixth, using a single, a walk and a pair of doubles to extend their lead back to three, 5-2. After EMU went down in order in the sixth, the Panthers tacked on four more in the seventh, taking a 9-2 lead. EMU was able to put two runners on in their half of the seventh with two outs, but a fly out to right field ended the game.
