HARRISONBURG, Va. āĀ For the first time in nearly three months, the EMU Disc Golf Team hit the course, traveling to compete in the Wolfpack Cross County Classic last weekend. The two-day event took place at the Diavolo Disc Golf Course in Cary, N.C. Overall, the Royals acquitted themselves well against a loaded field that featured teams from several big schools, including North Carolina, N.C. State, East Carolina, UNC Charlotte, and Appalachian State.

Saturday Highlights (Team and Single Rounds)

- Team
- Singles
- Longenecker carried the banner for the Royals in the singles round, following up the individual win at EMU's home event in November with a seven-under 70, good for a tie for fifth. Longenecker has finished in the top six in each of his individual rounds so far this season.
- Out of the "A" team players, Andreas also shot under-par individually, turning in a scorecard of one-under 76.
- Wenger led the EMU "B" team in the singles round, going two-over 79.

- Team
- Miriam Rhodes and Naomi Kratzer made their college debuts for the Royals. In their first round, the duo combined for a score of 14-over 85.
- Singles
- Rhodes finished fifth in the women's singles round with a score of 15-over 76 on the 18-hole white course. Kratzer completed the round in 24-over 85.
Sunday Highlights (Final Team Round)
- Men
- The "A" squad heated up in the final round, going an impressive 16-under 61 to close out the tournament. The highlight of the round was an eagle on the tough fourth hole. This score allowed the "A" team to inch up the leaderboard to finish fourth overall with a cumulative score of 26-under par. Ā The "A" Team from UNC Chapel Hill took first overall at 37-under.
- The "B" team also improved from their opening round, shooting three under on Sunday.
- Women
- Rhodes and Kratzer wrapped up their first-ever competition with final round of 11-over 88.

What's Next
The EMU Disc Golf Team will stay in the state of Virginia for their next competition, going to Lynchburg to take part in the Liberty Flamethrower Collegiate Regional on Saturday and Sunday, March 1-2.
