Highlights
- The first half was very defense-oriented, as the two squads combined for just five shots in the opening 45 minutes, only one of which was on net. That shot on target belonged to EMU as Iverson Garcia sent a shot to the lower left side of the net that was stopped by the Yellow Jackets' goalkeeper.
- 57' | The pace of play picked up considerably in the second half. Following a foul in the box by an EMU player, Randolph Macon was awarded a penalty kick. Wiley Eubank booted the penalty home to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead.
- 63' | However, the Royals did not trail for long. Arteaga took the ball, dribbled towards the center and shot from the near the top of the box and into the upper-right corner of the net. Arteaga's unassisted effort evened the match up at 1-1.
- Both the Royals and the Yellow Jackets exchanged opportunities to take the lead but neither side could muster a game-winner.
