Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. - EMU Women's Soccer was back at home on Saturday, as they took on defending USA South Champions, Southern Virginia.
It was a defensive stalemate through the first 45 minutes, but in the second half, SVU broke through for a trio of goals to pick up a 3-0 win.

Highlights
- Neither team was able to get going offensively in the first half, as EMU picked up one shot from Esme Cardoso-Rodriguez, while the Knights put three on goal, all of which were saved by Aja Laun. But nothing got past the keepers, sending the teams to the break in a scoreless tie.
- Laun added her fourth save at the 48:39 mark, but SVU was able to get on the board six minutes later when Lucy Skidmore's pass found the foot of Maybel Harris, who put it in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
- Southern Virginia tacked on two more goals in the frame, one on a penalty kick and another in the 66th minute. EMU continued to push, but wouldn't be able to cut into the Knights' lead, as SVU picked up the win.
