FREDERICK, Md. - The Royals Field Hockey team made a trip to Maryland on Wednesday, taking on Hood College in a midweek matchup.
Gracyn Arruda had 29 saves for EMU, just three off the school record, but it was the Blazers picking up a 5-0 win.

Highlights
- The Blazers got on the board early, taking a 1-0 lead less than a minute and a half into the quarter. But Arruda started her huge night, coming up with six more saves in the period, to give her seven after one.
- In the second quarter, Hood added two more goals late in the half, to take a 3-0 lead into the break. Arruda added to her total with seven saves, to go along with a defensive save from Sophia Armato.
- Hood added two more goals in the second half, to push their lead to 5-0. Arruda added 15 second half saves, along with another defensive save, this time from Alaina Fiden, to pace the Royals defense.
- Arruda's 29 saves was just three saves off the EMU record, which was set by Martha Walker in a 1986 game against Bloomsburg.
