WINCHESTER, Va. – EMU Baseball started the final week of the 2024 regular season with an hour-long bus ride up I-81 to faceoff with Shenandoah. The game did not break the Royals' way as they fell to the host Hornets by a final of 16-1.

Highlights
- The Hornets stung early with four runs in the bottom of the first.
- Tapscott kept the Royals in the game early, allowing only more run in the second through the fifth innings.
- Shenandoah doubled their lead in the bottom of the sixth by bringing in five more runs, two of which came on a home run by Chandler Ballenger.
- The Hornets tacked on six more runs in the seventh, including two more home runs, one each from Pearce Bucher and Hunter Madagan.
- EMU put a run on the board in the top of the eighth when Noah Sanderson reached home on a Jason Dwyer groundout.
