Highlights
- After CNU put runners on second and third with no outs to start the game, Rudd settled down and struck out the side to keep the game scoreless. Nick Arnold picked up a two-out double and Ethan Spraker walked for EMU in their half of the first, but a fielder's choice groundout kept the Royals off the board.
- In the second, CNU was able to pull ahead 7-0 on a sac fly, a two-RBI single, a bases loaded triple and a wild pitch. They added five more runs in the third, taking a 12-0 lead. Zach Williams kept the Captains off the board in the fourth but gave up a pair of runs in the fifth, as CNU pushed their lead to 14-0.
- The Royals were able to chip away at the lead in their half of the fifth when Jason Dwyer walked, moved to second on a wild pitch and came in to score on Aidan Miller's RBI single. Arnold doubled, putting runners on second and third and they both came in to score as Spraker reached on an error, to make the score 15-3. CNU was able to extend their lead with another run in the sixth and two more in the seventh. An Alec Riles base hit in the sixth was it for the Royals as CNU wrapped up the seven-inning win.
