LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Royals headed south on Wednesday, for a midweek ODAC matchup with the University of Lynchburg.
The Hornets pulled out to a big halftime lead and used it to pick up a 20-1 win.

Highlights
- Cristal Narciso picked up a pair of saves for EMU in the opening frame. The Hornets, however, were able to grab an 11-goal lead after one.
- After Lynchburg added another goal at the 12:48 mark of the second quarter, Eve Detter picked up EMU's first shot on goal, but it was saved by the Hornet keeper. Lynchburg added three more goals, but with just under five minutes left in the half, Alex Palizzi grabbed a ground ball and followed that up with a shot that found the back of the cage, cutting into the Hornet lead. Lynchburg added one more goal in the quarter, taking a 16-1 lead at the break.
- In the third, the Royals defense held strong, holding Lynchburg to just two goals while Narciso came up with a pair of saves while also grabbing a pair of ground balls. EMU's defense continued to play strong in the final frame, holding Lynchburg to just one goal while Narciso added another two saves. But unfortunately for the Royals, they couldn't get any shots on the Lynchburg keeper, to cut into the lead.
