Highlights
- McDaniel was able to scratch across a run in the top of the first, after a single, wild pitch and a single up the middle. Sam Hensley reached on an error to lead off the Royals first, and moved to second on Kendyll Eddins' sac bunt, but Hensley was left at second.
- The Green Terror added two insurance runs in the third, leading off with a walk, a stolen base and then putting runners on second and third with a double. A two RBI single up the middle plated a pair of McDaniel runners before Cyzick picked up a strikeout and a flyout to end the threat.
- EMU got their first hit in the third, with two outs, when Hensley doubled to left center, but once again she was left there as EMU grounded out to end the threat. Cyzick just narrowly missed a homerun in the fourth, driving a ball off the right field wall for a single. But another fly out kept EMU off the board.
- Kaley Frazier picked up a pinch hit single with one out in the fifth and, after Carsen Brake came in to pinch run, Brake moved to third on Hensley's second double of the day, but a groundout ended the inning.
- Nothing happened for either team in the sixth and McDaniel stranded a runner in the seventh. Emerson Adkins led off the bottom of the seventh with a triple for the Royals and Taylor Umberger walked, putting runners on the corner with one out. Hensley came through with a fielder's choice to center Umberger was thrown out at second, but Adkins scored to cut the Royals deficit to two. The final batter popped out to short ending the Royals threat and giving McDaniel the win.
