SALEM, Va. - For the final time this season, the Royals hit the road on Saturday, making the trip south to take on Roanoke.
EMU trailed by just nine at the half, but Roanoke used a big second half en route to an 88-58 win.

First Half
EMU got on the board early with a pair of free throws and a layup from
Jalen Jones.
Aviwe Mahlong and
Gabriel Campbell knocked down shots to put EMU ahead, but Roanoke answered with a 5-0 run to take a five point lead. Three points from Mahlong and an
Aaron Brooks layup tied the game but once again, RC responded with a run, this time 7-0, to retake the lead. Late in the half, EMU was able to cut the lead to one with five points from Brooks and a three from Mahlong, but the Maroons ended the frame on a 7-0 run for a 40-31 lead at the break.
Second Half
Isaiah Carr cut the deficit to eight with a free throw to start the second half but five straight from Roanoke pushed their lead to 13. Daijordan Brown knocked down a three to cut it to 10 but RC went on a 24-8 run over the next 11 minutes to take a big lead. EMU was able to pick up some threes from Brown and
Marcos Pradales, but couldn't cut into the lead as Roanoke picked up the home win.
