LYNCHBURG, Va. – The EMU Men's Soccer team made the trek two hours south to face off with Lynchburg in the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals. Sadly, the Royals' season ended at the hands of the top-seeded Hornets, dropping a tight defensive affair by the score of 2-0.

Highlights
- 15' | After a quiet start to the match, Lynchburg broke the ice with a goal from Manzi Shalita, his fifth of the season. That put the Hornets out front 1-0.
- EMU nearly equalized the game before halftime when Carlos Ventura sent a shot from inside the box that missed just wide to the left. Lynchburg maintained their one-goal cushion at the break.
- 47' | Lynchburg wasted little time doubling their lead early in the second half. The Hornets utilized a series of headers, with the last one coming from Chris Wiley into the net for a 2-0 lead.
- Hudson Acocella and Josiah King pitched in second half shots, but the Royals could not get an opportunity on target.
- The Royals finished the season with a .500 record for the second straight season. This is EMU's first back-to-back .500 or better campaigns since a streak of three in a row from 2016-18.

What's Next
That concludes the 2024 season for EMU Men's Soccer. The team graduates three seniors, include their two leading goal scorers. However, the Royals will also return a great deal of experience for the 2025 campaign.
