Highlights
- Gracyn Arruda picked up a save early in the contest, keeping SU off the board. But just 2:01 into the game, Elizabeth Ranberger put a shot on cage that got past the keeper, giving the Hornets a 1-0 lead. Arruda added five more saves in the period, but Shenandoah was able to tack on five more goals to take a 6-0 lead after one.
- In the second, Arruda continued to work hard for EMU, snagging three saves, allowing just two goals. EMU's offense, however, wasn't able to get anything going as they were kept off the board with SU taking an 8-0 lead into the break.
- The Royals held the high-powered Hornet offense to just one goal on one shot in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, Shenandoah added one more goal late in the game, with Arruda picking up a save as well. That gave her 10 saves for the game, her sixth straight game with double-digit saves, and her ninth in the last 10 games.
