BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The latest installment of the Poultry Road Rivalry came to fruition on Wednesday, with the Royals traveling south to take on Bridgewater.
The Eagles shot lights out at home, finishing at almost 60% for the game, en route to an 88-71 win.

Highlights
First Half
The Eagles got out to a hot start, hitting their first three shots for an 8-0 lead, before the Royals scored seven straight from
Aviwe Mahlong and
Julien Hagerman, to pull within one. BC answered with a 14-1 run to take a 22-8 lead and the Eagles were able to extend their lead to as many as 17. But late in the half, with Bridgewater leading 34-21, threes from Hagerman and Daijordan Brown pulled EMU within seven. Then, with BC leading 37-27, the Royals closed the half on a 5-2 run, with Brown coming up with a steal and
Isaiah Carr putting in a layup in the closing the seconds.
Second Half
Four straight Eagle points pushed BC's lead to 11 to start the half, but the Royals kept battling, going on an 8-2 run with points from Carr, Mahlong and a big three from Hagerman, to cut the score to 45-40 at the 16:23 mark. The Eagles then caught fire, taking a 59-46 lead over the next five minutes, forcing an EMU timeout. Out of the break, BC extended their lead to 18, staying hot from the field and shooting 67% from the field in the second half. EMU was able to pick up a few points in the final minutes from
Donovan Arnason and
Jameel Davis to wrap up the Royals scoring.
