HARRISONBURG, Va. – The EMU Men's Soccer team continued their season-opening road trip with a visit to Hood College in Frederick, Md. The Royals will bring a win back with them to Harrisonburg after using a combination of opportunistic offense and stout defense to defeat the Blazers 2-0.

Highlights
- EMU outshot Hood 6-2, but none of those salvos found the back of the net as the two teams went into halftime scoreless.
- 61' – Ariel Bonilla sent a corner kick into the box, which Ford DeVault booted with his right foot into the low center part of the net to put the Royals up 1-0.
- 67' – First-year Yan Cesar got fouled in the box and was rewarded with a penalty kick, promptly sending it home to double EMU's lead to 2-0.
- Hood had a couple of shots in the waning minutes but could not close the deficit, sealing EMU's first win of 2023.
