WINCHESTER, VA. –  The EMU Women's Basketball team traveled an hour north to Winchester for a Wednesday ODAC showdown with Shenandoah. Unfortunately, the Royals' search for their first ODAC win of the season continues as the Hornets defended their homecourt by the score of 76-46.

Highlights
First Quarter
The opening 10 minutes were a feeling out process as the two squads traded baskets. Kayla Surles opened up EMU's scoring with a three-pointer at the 8:40 mark. The Royals led by as much as four at 8-4 before the Hornets closed the frame on 12-6 to make in 16-14 Shenandoah after 10 minutes.

Second Quarter
The second quarter saw Shenandoah pull away from the Royals, outscoring EMU 24-12 over those 10 minutes. The Royals got within seven after a Laila Glymph layup with 3:34 remaining in the half, but the Hornets went on an 11-4 run to close out the half and go into the locker room with a 40-26 lead.

Third Quarter
EMU attempted a rally with a Caris Lucas fastbreak three-pointer and buckets from Osborne, Brii Redfearn, and Trinity Washington. But Shenandoah opened up the lead again with an 11-4 scoring run over the final six minutes of the period, taking a comfy 57-36 cushion to the final quarter.

Fourth Quarter
The game ended with more of the same from the Hornets, going on two separate 7-0 and 8-0 scoring runs in the fourth quarter to open up a lead as big as 32 on EMU. Shardae Williams sank a layup at the buzzer to finish up the Royals' scoring.
