WESTMINSTER, Md. – The EMU Women's Basketball team played their second game in as many days against Stevenson College in the consolation game of the Rebecca Martin Memorial Tipoff Tournament, hosted by McDaniel College. But the Royals would get no consolation, running out of gas late in a 76-57 loss to the Mustangs.
Kayla Surles led EMU in scoring again with 15 points, but it was not enough to overcome Stevenson, spurred by Tessa Boswell's 19-point performance.

First Quarter
After quick baskets from Stevenson, Surles got the Royals on the board with a mid-range jumper, followed by a
Laila Glymph layup to tie the game at four apiece. The two sides continued to trade baskets back and forth, and it was Stevenson that emerged with a 17-16 lead after 10 minutes.
Second Quarter
The Mustangs came out galloping to start the second quarter, going on a 15-6 scoring run that spanned the first 5:44 of the quarter. EMU, however, countered with a 12-0 run of their own, capped off by a
Brii Redfearn layup to put the Royals 34-32 going to the locker room.
Third Quarter
It remained a close contest in the third quarter, with neither team getting out to a lead bigger than five. Stevenson enter the final quarter with a 51-47 lead over EMU.
Fourth Quarter
For the Royals, the game got out of hand in the final 10 minutes as Stevenson outscored them 25-10 in the fourth. Glymph made a pair of free throws to get the Royals within six at 7:28 remaining, but EMU got no closer.

The EMU Women's Basketball team will hope for better luck in the friendly confines of Yoder Arena when they ODAC foe Randolph-Macon in their home opener this Wednesday, Nov. 15. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
