Box Score HARRISONBURG, Va. – For the second straight night, the Royals played in front of the home crowd at Yoder Arena, as they took on Roanoke College.
The game proved to be a back-and-forth contest until Roanoke separated themselves in the fourth quarter, outscoring EMU 25-11, en route to a 74-58 win.

Highlights
First Quarter
The first period proved to be a scrappy one full of hustle plays. For the Royals it was Trinity Washington who set the tone offensively as she scored 7 of the 14 total points in the quarter. EMU found itself heading into the second quarter down 5, 19-14.
Second Quarter
The Maroons were able to extend their lead to 10 before back-to-back threes from Mya Hamlet and Lauryn Moore pulled EMU within four. Roanoke continued to lead late in the half, 34-25, but Hamlet's hot hand cut the Maroons lead to three at the half.
Third Quarter
EMU came out on a 5-0 run, with points from Hamlet and Caris Lucas, to take a 36-34 lead to start the third. The teams traded points to Roanoke leading by one, but EMU answered with a 5-0 run to take a 43-39 advantage. The teams once again went back to point swapping, but a Roanoke free throw gave the Maroons a two-point lead heading to the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
EMU was able to take a one-point lead after a Washington three to start the fourth. RC pulled back ahead, leading by just one with 6:20 left, before ending the game on a 13-2 run to secure the win.

The Royals are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Virginia Wesleyan to face the Marlins in an ODAC matchup. Tipoff is at 2pm.
