Box Score SALEM, Va. - EMU women's soccer opened its ODAC slate on Saturday, taking their talents to Salem for a matchup with Roanoke.
The Maroons were able to score two goals in the first 12 minutes before the Royals defense clamped down, holding Roanoke scoreless for almost 58 minute. Then the Maroons were able to tack on two goals late in the game to pick up a 4-0 win over EMU.

Highlights
- 4' - Hannah Dellinger had EMU's first shot of the game in just the fourth minute. But her shot sailed wide right, keeping the game scoreless.
- 8' - Roanoke took the lead in the eighth minute when Morgan O'Neill juked around a defender on the near side of the field and fired a shot in, beating Aja Laun, to give RC a 1-0 advantage.
- 12' - MC Petrucelli picked up her first of three goals on the day, to give Roanoke a 2-0 lead after taking a pass from O'Neill, dribbing to her right and putting a shot on goal that found the back of the net.
- EMU was able to keep Roanoke scoreless for the next 58 minutes behind strong defensive play from Maria Bettilyon, Abigail Forrest, Anya Bobrowski and more.
- 45' - The Royals only shot on goal came from Hailey Smith just seconds before halftime. She put one on net but it was saved by Roanoke keeper Carrington Lippi.
- MC Petrucelli added a pair of second half goals to extend the Maroons lead just 11 seconds apart in the second half.
