Box Score BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Royals traveled down the road to battle against crosstown rival Bridewater College in a midweek conference matchup. Despite improvements in the second half, EMU was unable to mount the comeback, falling by a score of 74-35.
Highlights
- The first period was tightly contested between the two, with it ending in a score of 12-7. Brii Redfearn was the first on the board for the Royals, sinking a jumpshot from outside the arc to stop the Eagles' run.
- The Royals kicked it up a notch in the second half, with their players trying to claw their way back from the steep deficit. Trinity Price and KK Johnson led the charge for EMU in the third period, running a high octane offense in an effort to chip away.
- With just over a minute left to play in the third period, Lauryn Moore sank a three and Mya Hamlet followed it up with a driving layup to give some momentum to the Royals. With time winding down, Constance Komara and Hamlet went to the line and sank free throws to keep fighting.
- Komara and Price jumpstarted the offense in the fourth period, sinking respective shots in just over a minute of play.
- Redfearn sank another three and Chyna Roberts sank a couple of free throws to round out the scoring for EMU in the game.
What's Next
The Royals make their way back into Yoder Arena on Saturday, Dec. 4, hosting Roanoke College in an ODAC contest with tipoff scheduled for 2:00 PM.
