Royals Drop Close Match On Homecoming

Box Score

Harrisonburg, Va. - Two second half goals were the difference maker in front of the homecoming crowd for the EMU women's soccer team. Playing well through the first half and holding strong in the second, the Royals fell to the visiting Yellow Jackets 2-0.

Highlights

  • The first half was a tight back-and-forth between both teams, with Randolph-Macon holding the offensive advantage slightly. The Royals were able to consistently hold back the attack, though, keeping the score tied 0-0 heading into the half.
  • Samm Livermore nearly gave the Royals the lead early in the second half when a powerful shot hit off the top crossbar, just narrowly missing the goal.
  • In the 80th minute of the match, Ashley Catalano looked to equalize the contest, taking a shot at goal. The shot was saved by the visiting goalkeeper, thwarting the attack.
