Box Score Ferrum, Va. - The EMU women's soccer team made their way back into the win column, taking down ODAC opponent Ferrum College in a match under the Friday night lights. The win give the Royals their first conference victory of the season, and puts the winning rhythm back in the step of EMU.
Highlights
- The match started in offensive fashion, with the Royals keeping the pressure on the Panthers in the first ten minutes of the match. EMU managed to get off four shots in the first ten minutes.
- In the winding seconds of the first half, sophomore Lyndsay Harris made an attempt at the goal to give the Royals the lead. The shot was on target, but Ferrum's goalie pushed it away to keep the score equal at the half.
- Early in the second half, both Hannah York and Ashley Iscoa took shots on goal to try to give the Royals the lead, but the Panther's goalie remained a wall, keeping the score at bay.
- Both defenses kept the pressure on the opposing offense, until Samm Livermore came through for the Royals. The junior midfielder found the perfect time to sink her second goal of the season, giving the Royals a 1-0 lead that would carry until time expired.

- The Royals will look to carry the momentum from this win into their next ODAC contest next Wednesday, Oct. 6 when they host Virginia Wesleyan at 4:00 PM.
