Box Score EMU's volleyball women were strong off the bus in Tuesday's road match at powerful Randolph-Macon, but the Yellow Jacket slowly took over in a 3-0 decision.

The Royals head to Salem, Va., on Saturday for a challenging but important ODAC tri-match, starting with Lynchburg at 1:00pm. EMU stays on the court to tango with host Roanoke at 3:00pm.
Andrea Troyer (Harrisonburg, Va./Broadway) and Amy Goodman (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) started the match against Randolph-Macon with a block. Tough serving and a continued defensive presence at the net pushed the Royals to an early 6-4 lead. But the home team used a quick 3-0 jab to sneak in front at 7-6. EMU stayed with R-MC, but also couldn't get back on front, eventually losing the opener, 25-20.
A service ace game the women first point in the second set. Then the Yellow Jackets unleashed the next 12. EMU answered with a 6-2 run before Randolph-Macon closed the door, 25-8.
The Royals forged ties early in the third, but R-MC slowed pulled away to sweep, 25-12.
EMU's block was in good order, with Troyer getting a hand on four of the team's six stuffs. She also had four kills. Hannah Johnson (Staunton, Va./Wilson Memorial) landed six kills. Tori Wigley (Elkton, Va./East Rockingham) picked up 11 assists.
Tarynn Clark (Goshen, Ind./Bethany Christian) was busy in the backcourt with ten digs. Ginny Sorrell (Spotsylvania, Va./Spotsylvania) added six.
