Shenandoah (10-15/4-7 ODAC) started out quickly in Wednesday's match, riding a 7-2 start to a 25-16 finish. The Royals led early in the second set before SU closed on a 13-4 run in a 25-17 decision. EMU led by as many as four points in the third set and still at 21-20 before the Hornets finished the night with a 5-0 streak to win, 25-21.
Amy Goodman (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) picked up a double double with 10 kills and 12 digs. She also had two of EMU's seven service aces. Maria Yoder (Manheim, Pa./Hempfield) added four kills and a pair of aces. Setter Carly Gingerich (Goshen, Ind./Goshen) had 14 assists and eight digs.
Ginny Sorrell (Spotsylvania, Va./Spotsylvania) had 10 digs with two aces, while libero Tarynn Clark (Goshen, Ind./Bethany Christian) led all players with 20 digs.
Emily Cheatwood racked up 19 kills to lead Shenandoah.
