EMU's volleyball women came home empty on a tough weekend road trip, getting swept by ODAC-leading Randolph-Macon on Saturday.

The women have a few days to collect themselves before a must-win ODAC date at Randolph College on Thursday. At 9-15, they are still stuck on nine wins, which is their high-water mark in two of the last three seasons. EMU's last 10-win season came in 2009.

The Royals used a 4-0 run in the first to cut an early deficit down to 9-8. R-MC kept the lead, and the women would get no closer than two, including at 18-16, 22-20 and 24-22. A kill finished up a 25-22 opener for the Yellow Jackets.

The teams traded leads early in the second before a 7-1 streak gave Randolph-Macon a 16-11 edge. EMU would again get within two points, but no closer, in a 25-16 loss.

The Yellow Jackets then scored the first five of the final set and never looked back in a 25-9 final.

Becca Hardy (Port Republic, Va./Eastern Mennonite) had an efficient attack, landing six kills on just ten swings. Maria Yoder (Manheim, Pa./Hempfield) also had six kills while Janna Williams (Kenbridge, Va./Kenston Forest) added five.

Setter Jasmine Johnson (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee) did a lot of scrambling with 22 assists and a team high 13 digs. Skyler Johnson (Harrisonburg, Va./Harrisonburg) added 11 digs.

Mariah Clark was unstoppable at the net, leading Randolph-Macon with 18 kills. Emily Fitzwater had a hand in five of her team's nine digs.
