Box Score EMU's basketball women were in firm control in Wednesday's 92-55 win at Trinity Washington University. The Royals shot a season-best 49.3% from the floor as they improved 5-2 on the year.
The women return to ODAC play this Saturday afternoon, playing a 2:00pm game at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Va.
After an early-game hiccup and 4-0 deficit, Sa'Mone Moore (Covington, Va./Covington) scored EMU's first points at the 8:01 mark, triggering an 11-0 run. The Royals scored the final six of the period as well, taking a 17-8 lead.
The women pushed the margin into double figures during the second and never let up. Eastern Mennonite led 38-20 at halftime, and increased their scoring each period until a 29-point fourth.
The Royals out-shot their hosts 49% to 27%, including a 7-for-17 effort from outside compared to 0-for-9 for the Tigers. EMU also had a +9 turnover margin.
Jess Rheinheimer (Manheim, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) was 11-18 from the floor for 24 points. Lindsey Krisak (Alexandria, Va./Edison) hit four triples and had 14 points and four assists. Moore added 13 counters.
Jonae Guest (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) led EMU with nine rebounds, while Alicia Ygarza (Conestoga, Pa./Penn Manor) had seven boards and three steals. Myneshia Walker (Freeman, Va./Brunswick) and Alexis Welch (District Heights, Md./Crossland) each added four assists.
Blessing Hayes topped Trinity with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
