Box Score EMU's soccer women continued their tour through the top tier of the ODAC's teams, dropping a 4-0 decision at home to Bridgewater College on Tuesday night. The Royals are 0-3 in league play, but expect a late season surge after playing their first six ODAC games against the top six teams from the preseason poll.
The women are back at home this weekend, hosting Washington and Lee Saturday night at 7:00pm, closing up EMU's Homecoming festivities.
The Royals defense held Bridgewater out of goal early, and looked good for much of the first half. But a two-minute span starting in the 26th minute saw BC dump in a pair of goals for a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The Eagles added two more in the second, but EMU kept pushing to finish, earning a corner with a mere 11 seconds left on the clock. Morgan Hill (Martinsville, Va./Carlisle) put the women's only shot on goal, firing a long free kick in the first. Elisa Ott (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) and Hannah Walker (Chesapeake, Va./Grassfield) had the other attempts for the home team.
Becca Borg (Gig Harbor, Wash./Peninsula) continued her solid play in goal, hitting the ground for many of her 14 saves. She now has 13 or more saves in each of EMU's past four games.
