Box Score The EMU volleyball women fell prey to first-place Randolph-Macon Wednesday night on the road, losing to the Yellow Jackets in straight sets. The Royals struggled to find a rhythm in Ashland, Va., and are still in search of their first ODAC win.
The women played their best in the second set, staying within a single point until 15-14. But a 4-0 R-MC run took control in that set for a 25-20 decision. Game one finished at 25-16 while game three was 25-13.
EMU had more attack errors than kills, giving them a negative attack percentage for just the fourth time this season. Sara Ritchie (Harrisonburg, Va./Turner Ashby) had six kills while Janna Williams (Kenbridge, Va./Kenston Forest) added five. They were the only two Royals to hit better than .000.
Jasmine Johnson (Staunton, Va./Robert E. Lee) had 13 set assists. Libero Katie Miller (San Antonio, Tex./Brandeis) picked up 21 digs, which was a season high in a three-set match.
Eastern Mennonite's women slide to 7-16 overall and 0-7 in the ODAC. They have the weekend off before playing their three final home matches next week. That home stand starts with Bridgewater College Tuesday night at 7:00pm in Yoder Arena.
