Box Score 2 The EMU volleyball women wrapped up their second day at the Guetle Invitational by earning a split. The fete was not only impressive considering the talented teams at the invite, but also because it equaled last season's win total. After finishing 4-19 last year, the Royals are now 4-5 as they prepare for their ODAC opener against Randolph on Wednesday.

The host Cardinals swept past the women to open play Sunday morning by scores of 25-15, 25-21 and 25-18.
Kayley Argenbright (Fishersville, Va./Wilson Memorial) had a team high 11 kills. Middle hitter McKenna Carter (Waynesboro, Va./Stuarts Draft) put away seven kills to go with three solo blocks and three block assists. D Probst (Willow Street, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) added six kills and three blocks.
Dani Driver (Cheverly, Md./Elizabeth Seton) had 25 set assists and a pair of service aces. In the back row, Katie Miller (San Antonio, Tex./Brandeis) averaged nearly 10 digs per game, racking up 29 in the contest. Alena Yoder (Elkhart, Ind./Bethany Christian) added 16.
EMU 3, Mt. St. Vincent 0
The Royals turned right around and started out quickly against Mt. St. Vincent with a quick 25-8 sweep in game one. The Dolphins rebounded in game two, but Eastern Mennonite still won, 25-23. Game three was another quick one, with the women winning 25-10.
EMU hit a season best .266 as a team. Rachel Kennel (Parkesburg, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) led the way, hammering 13 kills on 27 attacks with no errors. The senior added four blocks defensively at the net. Probst was also very efficient, dropping nine kills on just 20 attempts. Driver doled out 29 assists.
Miller was again a leader from the back line, picking up 17 digs to go with three service aces. Driver added 14 digs and Yoder had 12 digs with a pair of aces.
After going 1-3 at the Guetle Classic, sophomore Kayley Argenbright was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Having already equaled last fall's win total, the next step for the Royals is their first conference win since 2009. They'll get their first chance Wednesday night at 7:00pm when Randolph comes to Harrisonburg.
