Marlins Run Away From EMU in Virginia Beach

Box Score

The Eastern Mennonite women's soccer team suffered a defeat on the road Tuesday night, dropping a 10-0 decision at Virginia Wesleyan.

The Marlins, the top team in the ODAC standings and No. 5 team in the country, grabbed control early and never looked back, dominating shots 26-2.

EMU, which again played the game with only 11 women in uniform, got shots from senior Janna Kaufman (Friedens, PA/Johnstown Christian) and Kimmy Beck (Lynchburg, VA/Temple Christian).

Becca Borg (Gig Harbor, WA/Peninsula) made four saves in goal.

The loss drop the Lady Royals to 3-9-1 overall, including 0-7-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  The women return home this weekend, taking on Randolph-Macon at 1:00pm on Saturday, which is also Homecoming at EMU.
