Soccer Women Handled By No. 10 Lynchburg In Season Finale

Box Score

The Eastern Mennonite soccer women wrapped up their 2012 season Wednesday night, losing 11-0 to powerful Lynchburg in Harrisonburg.

The Hornets, ranked No. 10 in the NSCAA national poll, scored three goals in the opening eight minutes and never looked back.  LC led 5-0 at halftime and added six more scores in the second.

Asia Malcolm (Richmond, VA/John Randolph Tucker), Kimmy Beck (Lynchburg, VA/Temple Christian) and Nora Osei (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) each had shots on goal for the Lady Royals.

Jenni Beck (Archbold, OH/Archbold) made a number of nice stops in goal and collected 13 saves.

It was the final collegiate game for senior midfielder Janna Kaufman (Friedens, PA/Johnstown Christian).

EMU closes the year with a record of 3-13-1, including 0-11-1 in the tough Old Dominion Athletic Conference.  The rebuilding women were hurt by a number of injuries throughout the season, but showed good promise for next year.
