Box Score With the season winding down, the Eastern Mennonite women's volleyball team travelled to Lexington, Va., Tuesday night for their final conference match. Washington & Lee proved in control from start to finish, sweeping the Lady Royals and claiming the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament.
EMU never led in set one, as the Generals jumped ahead 9-2 and won 25-10.
The women didn't allow any big runs in the second set, but couldn't get any momentum of their own and lost 25-17. W&L was in full control in the final set, winning 25-7.
Monika Burkholder (Linville, Va./Eastern Mennonite) had three kills, a service ace and a block assist. Tabitha Bowman (Waynesboro, Va./Stuarts Draft) also had three kills along with a team high six digs.
Brittany Childress (Gloucester, Va./Christchurch) added five digs.
Eastern Mennonite slips to 3-20 with the loss and 0-10 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Lady Royals will miss the ODAC Tournament and close their year with a tri-match this Saturday, playing Marymount and Susquehanna in Arlington, Va.
