Box Score After Saturday's impressive 7-2 win over Hollins, the Lady Royals were looking for a repeat performance Tuesday night at home against Randolph. They got it. Eastern Mennonite didn't allow the WildCats to even take a shot until they had built a 6-0 lead, which also turned into the final score.
Chaska Yoder (Plain City, Oh./Jonathan Alder) and Melissa Miller (Bradenton, Fl./Lakewood Ranch) teamed up to put EMU on the board. Working on the right side of the goal, Miller found Yoder who skipped a shot past the Randolph keeper just 8:34 into the game.
In the 25th minute, Taylor Wenger (New Holland, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) scored unassisted to make it 2-0.
The Lady Royals outshot the WildCats 26-0 in the first 45 minutes.
The women picked up where they left off in the second, putting in four goals in the first 15 minutes. Wenger assisted Yoder in the 50th minute and Miller beat the keeper from the top of the box with an assist from captain Erin Reichart (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) four minutes later.
Wenger got her second unassisted goal in the 60th minute and Miller scored again two minutes later on a pass from Yoder to make it 6-0.
Randolph got its first shot on a free kick with 19 minutes left to play as the women coasted to the win.
The Lady Royals featured another balanced attack, as Wenger, Miller and Yoder each finished with two goals and one assist. Reichart's assist was the senior defender's first collegiate point in her 63rd career game.
Keepers Abby Diffenbach (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) and Jenni Beck (Archbold, Oh./Archbold) teamed up for the shutout, with Beck getting a pair of saves in 30+ minutes of work.
Eastern Mennonite gets its second big win in a row, with a combined score of 13-2 in victories over Randolph and Hollins. The women are 5-1-1 in their last seven games with a combined score of 24-6.
The Lady Royals continue their season-ending homestand when they host Guilford at 7:00pm on Saturday. Tonight's win also leap-frogged EMU over both the Quakers and Randolph-Macon into sixth place in the ODAC. The women close their season next Tuesday at home against second-place Lynchburg.
