Women's Soccer Nets 1-0 Win Over Greensboro

A 1-0 overtime decision gave the Eastern Mennonite University women's soccer team their first win in 2008 as the Lady Royals competed in the Roanoke College Tournament on Saturday, September 6.
EMU improves to 1-3 on the season after sustaining tough luck losses at the hands of #2 Messiah College, Gettysburg College, and Frostburg State.
Greensboro suffers their third straight overtime game with the Pride dropping to 1-2 on the season.
Both teams battled through 90 minutes of action as the Pride was able to get off several scoring chances. GC outshot EMU 12-5 through regulation with Tessa Hall contributing five shots on goal.

Abi Diffenbach (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) was up to the challenge as she shut out the Pride through regulation and into overtime. Diffenbach had 14 saves on the day, a new career high.
The Lady Royals also had some scoring opportunities in regulation as they had a 10-1 advantage in corner kicks over GC with Lamm getting three shots off, two on goal. It was not until the 98th minute that
Katie Lamm (Newmanstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon Co.) got her third and final shot on goal to sail between the posts to give EMU the win.
Greensboro keeper Katie Allegro registered three saves.
EMU will wrap up competition at the Roanoke College Tournament on Sunday, September 7, as they take on Methodist College at 5 p.m.
