Five Game Winning Streak for Women's Soccer

The Eastern Mennonite University women's soccer team is now riding a five-game winning streak as the Lady Royals defeated Randolph-Macon College 4-0 Saturday afternoon in Ashland, Va.
EMU, which opened the season 0-3, improves to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
Randolph-Macon falls to 5-3 on the year and 1-3 in the conference.
"The girls played great," explained EMU head coach Holly Hall. "They transitioned up the field well, which has been something we are working on in practice."
The Lady Royals got a pair of goals again from
Mattie Horning (Morgantown, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) and a goal each from
Katie Lamm (Newmanstown, Pa./Eastern Lebanon Co.) and
Mary Dunn (Dalton, Ohio/Central Christian).
Horning scored a pair of goals in a 6-0 conference win over Sweet Briar College on Tuesday.
EMU scored three times in the first period with Horning and Lamm connecting for a pair of goals. Horning notched her first goal at the 7:42 mark, with an assist going to Lamm, and then added her second score at 23:46 with Lamm again helping out.
Lamm capped the scoring in the first frame with her team leading sixth goal of the year.
Dunn, who had not scored a goal in two seasons with EMU, scored her second straight goal in the second period with an assist going to
Christa Beckler (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee).
Abi Diffenbach (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) had three saves in the win.
Mary Jocelyn had six saves for RMC.
The Lady Royals will continue the 2008 season with a stop in Emory, Va., as they take on the Wasps of Emory & Henry College on Saturday, October 4, at 4 p.m.
