Women's Soccer Suffers 3-0 Loss in ODAC Quarterfinals

#4 Roanoke College will advance to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Semifinal round as the host Maroons defeated the #5 Eastern Mennonite University women's soccer team 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Salem, Va.
The Maroons improve to 11-6-2 overall.
EMU ends the 2008 season with a 9-8 overall mark and a 7-4 record in the ODAC.
Roanoke will now play the winner of the Virginia Wesleyan versus Bridgewater College game on Wednesday, November 5.
The Maroons scored a first period goal off the foot of Tami Alcade in the 35th minute to take a 1-0 lead. EMU held the home team off the board for the remainder of the half and went into the locker room trialing by only one score.
The Lady Royals offense tried to capitalize on the few opportunities they had to tie the game up but the Maroon defense continued to thwart each attempt. Roanoke held EMU to only four shots in the game, two in each half, while Kristen McCoy and Jessica Welfare put two more scores on the board for the home team to seal the win.

Abi Diffenbach (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) had four saves in the loss.
Roanoke finished with 13 total shots, and a 3-2 margin in corner kicks over EMU.
Lindsey Kooiman had two saves for RC.
