Lady Royals End Season with 3-2 Decision Over Sweet Briar

The Eastern Mennonite University women's volleyball team ended the 2008 season on a high note as the Lady Royals defeated Sweet Briar College in five games (3-2) Wednesday night in conference play.
Game scores were 25-19, 18-25, 25-18, 12-25, and 15-5.
EMU improves to 5-20 on the season and 1-9 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
Sweet Briar falls to 8-22 on the season and 1-9 in the conference.
The EMU offense was led by the two forces in the middle.
Monika Burkholder (Linville, Va./Eastern Mennonite) and
Nicole Ropp (Iowa City, Ia./Iowa Mennonite) each registered a team leading 11 kills for the Lady Royals while
Jenny Blosser (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) had 25 digs.
Junior setter
Christine Bottles (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) had 30 assists, the third time she has reached that plateau this season.
