Wasps Sting Lady Royals Volleyball with 3-1 Loss

The Emory & Henry College Wasps defended their hive as they gained a 3-1 Old Dominion Athletic Conference decision over the Eastern Mennonite University women's volleyball team Saturday afternoon in Emory, Va.

Game scores were 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, and 25-10.

EMU falls to 4-20 on the season, 0-9 in the ODAC.

Emory & Henry improves to 18-6 on the year and 5-4 in conference play.

Monika Burkholder (Linville, Va./Eastern Mennonite) led the team with nine kills and added four digs. Christine Bottles (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) had 17 assists and 16 digs for EMU in the loss.

The Lady Royals will wrap-up the 2008 season on the road as they travel to Lychburg, Va., to take on Sweet Briar College on Wednesday, October 29, at 6:30 p.m.
