The Eastern Mennonite University women's volleyball team split its two game set on Friday, September 7, at the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic. The Lady Royals dropped the first match to Salisbury, but shut out Lycoming College 3-0.

In the first game against Salisbury the Lady Royals were held without a win even after a long second game in which Sea Gulls eventually won 34-32. Game scores for games one and three were, 30-19, and 30-15.

Senior Megan Good (Quito, Ecquador/Prairie), sophomore Laura Stoltzfus (Parnell, Ia./Iowa Mennonite) and Miller each had five kills in the loss.

Game two against Lycoming College proved to be a different story as EMU took control of the match early on and did not look back. Game scores were 30-25, 30-26, and 30-17.

Freshman Monika Burkholder (Linville, Va./Eastern Mennonite) had a team high 14 kills and four solo blocks with Good and Stoltzfus had another seven kills and three service aces each.
