Women's Volleyball Shuts Out Mary Baldwin

Behind the offensive attack of senior
Courtney Miller (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) and freshman
Monika Burkholder (Linville, Va./Eastern Mennonite) the Eastern Mennonite University women's volleyball team shut out Mary Baldwin for a 3-0 win Tuesday night.
Game scores were 30-27, 30-24, and 30-28.
The Lady Royals were led by Miller who finished with a team high 13 kills along with 10 digs for the double-double. Burkholder added another 12 kills, a career high, along with a service ace.
Junior setter
Sara Hoffman (Leesburg, Fla./Leesburg) had 34 assists and three service aces and leads the team with nine service aces this season.
Libero
Laura Bomberger (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) had 10 digs in the win.
Mary Baldwin got a strong performance from Jennifer Barnes on the outside as she contributed 12 kills in 16 attempts for a .688 hitting percentage. Setter Kim Clum had 18 assists for the Fighting Squirrels.
The Gettysburg Battlefield Classic is next on the schedule for the Lady Royals as they will take on Salisbury on Friday, Sept. 7, at 3 p.m. and then do battle with Lycoming at 5 p.m.
