EMU Women's Soccer Falls 3-0 to #5 Lynchburg

Lynchburg College scored three times in the first half and went on to defeat the Eastern Mennonite University women's soccer team 3-0 Saturday night in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match-up.
The loss drops the Lady Royals to 3-3-2 overall on the year and 1-2 in the ODAC while Lynchburg improves to 6-1-1 overall and a perfect 2-0 in the conference.
Lauren Askey scored the first goal for the Hornets with 11:46 off the clock while Betsy Kwiatkowshi added the second goal for LC almost four minutes later.
Karey Richardson capped off the scoring on her second goal of the season thanks to an assist from Kwiatkowshi, who now leads the team with 15 points.

Abigale Diffenbach (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) had six saves for the Lady Royals.
The Lady Royals were 2-0 against the Hornets in 2006 including a first round win over LC in the conference tournament. Lynchburg College is currently ranked fifth in the latest NSCAA/adidas Regional (South) Poll.
Randolph College, formerly known as Randolph-Macon Women's College, will come to Harrisonburg, Va., on Wednesday, September 26, for a 4 p.m. match with EMU on the South/Practice Field behind the Suter Science Center.
