The Eastern Mennonite University women's volleyball team dropped its match to Virginia Wesleyan 3-0 Wednesday night in Virginia Beach, Va. Game scores were 30-13, 30-23, and 30-26.

Freshman Monika Burkholder (Linville, Va./Eastern Mennonite) led the team with six kills while senior Megan Good (Quito, Ecuador/Prairie) had three block assists and two solo blocks.

Junior setter Sara Hoffman (Leesburg, Fla./Leesburg) and senior Courtney Miller (Harrisonburg, Va./Eastern Mennonite) each had three service aces with Hoffman tallying 20 assists.

"We had trouble with the first ball contact," said EMU coach Steve Benson. "We need to be more consistent with our passing and that will in turn help us be more successful."

The Lady Royals will now travel down to Roanoke College to compete in the Roanoke Classic begining on Saturday, October 6, with a 10 a.m. match followed by another match at 2 p.m.
