Riley, Lady Royals Cruise to 86-33 Win over Hollins

Sophomore
Carolyn Riley (Warrenton, Va.) had a game-high 17 points and nine boards as the Eastern Mennonite University women's basketball team easily defeated Hollins University Saturday afternoon by a score of 86-33.
The Lady Royals improve to 6-3 overall on the season and 3-2 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference while the Vixens fall to 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
EMU went up by 39 points at the half (54-15) thanks in part to Riley and sophomore forward
Kathleen Steele (Gainsville, Va.). Steele tallied 13 points and four rebounds in the half while Riley led the team with 15 points and seven boards.
Sophomore
Mandee Madden (Winchester, Va.) was 3-of-4 from the field and 2-of-3 from behind the arc for 10 points while junior center
Jolene Kratz (Telford, Pa.) added another 10 points and five rebounds for EMU.
Emily Long led Hollins with 10 points and four blocks with teammate Ashleigh Smith recorded another five points and eight assists.
EMU led in rebounds 52-29 while also ending the game with 20 steals compared to five for Hollins.
The Lady Royals return to the court on Tuesday, January 9, as they travel to Lexington, Va., to take on the Generals of Washington & Lee. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
