Riley Nets 19 as Lady Royals Defeat Lynchburg 65-48

Sophomore forward
Carolyn Riley (Warrenton, Va.) scored 19 points to lead the Eastern Mennonite University women's basketball team to a 65-48 win over Lynchburg College Saturday afternoon in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match-up.
EMU improves to 12-5 overall and 10-3 in the ODAC while Lynchburg drops to 5-13 overall and 5-8 in the conference.

Tara Jones (Richmond, Va.) have won three straight against conference opponents thanks to their win this afternoon and now sit in fourth place in the ODAC.
Jones finished with 18 points, tying a season-high, while also dishing out two assists. Freshman
Ebony Dennis (Baltimore, Md.) had five points, seven boards, and four steals for EMU in the win.
The Lady Royals took a commanding 34-17 win into the break before the Hornets came storming back in the second half thanks to the shooting of Kristina Darby. Darby paced the Hornets with seven points and helped cut the EMU lead to 13 less than three minutes into the second half.
The Lady Royals put the pressure back on the Hornets during the half thanks in part to a three-pointer by Riley and then another lay-up by Jones to push the lead back up to 21.
Amy Terry had another 12 points and five boards for the Hornets while Caroline Wesley had nine points and 11 boards.
Junior center
Jolene Kratz (Telford, Pa.) chipped in another seven points and five rebounds for EMU.
EMU returns to action on Wednesday, January 31, as they host Hollins University at 7 p.m.
