Lady Royals Score Four Goals in Second Period, Defeat Shenandoah 6-0

Sophomores Lindsey Snyder (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and Valerie Brubaker (Quarryville, Pa.) each scored two goals as the Eastern Mennonite University women's soccer team cruised past Shenandoah by a score of 6-0 Wednesday night on the EMU Turf Field.

Snyder scored both of her goals in the first period for EMU (6-2). Her first goal came off an assist by sophomore Katie Lamm (Newmanstown, Pa.) while her second goal was assisted by EMU senior goalkeeper Joy Shaiebly (Lancaster, Pa.) and freshman Mattie Horning (Morgantown, Pa.).

Shaiebly finished the game with four saves while Shenandoah keeper Megan Clark tallied eight saves in the loss. EMU out-shot Shenandoah 30-7 and finished with six corner kicks to the Hornets zero.

The Lady Royals poured on the offense in the second period as Lamm, Brubaker, and sophomore Alana Wenger (New Holland, Pa.) each scored for EMU. Brubaker scored her first goal at the 64:52 mark and then capped the scoring with her second goal with less than seven minutes to play.

Snyder and Horning assisted on Brubaker's first goal of the game while sophomore Lindsey Unruh (Leola, Pa.) assisted on her final goal.

The Lady Royals will return to the field on Saturday against Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponent Virginia Wesleyan. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
