Shenandoah Sneaks by Lady Royals 61-59

Shenandoah overcame an eight point deficit at the half to come back and defeat the Eastern Mennonite University women's basketball team 61-59 Saturday afternoon in Winchester, Va.
EMU falls to 4-3 overall on the season while Shenandoah improves to 7-1.
Three Lady Royals scored in double figures for EMU with sophomore
Carolyn Riley (Warrenton, Va.) leading the way with 15 points and seven rebounds. Senior
Tara Jones (Richmond, Va.) added another 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field while junior
Jolene Kratz had 12 points and four rebounds.
Jones scored 10 of her 14 points in the first half with freshman guard
Ebony Dennis (Baltimore, Md.) adding another five points and three steals.
The Lady Royals lead the Hornets 36-28 at the half. Freshman
Melissa Lewis (Stuarts Draft, Va.) had eight points, two rebounds and an assist off the bench for EMU.
Alicia Sanders and Cassie Womack led the Hornets with 12 and 11 points respectively while Alexis Hargbol recorded another nine points for SU.
EMU returns to action on Friday, January 5th, as the Lady Royals take on Lynchburg at 7 p.m.
