Riley, Lady Royals Cruise to 73-47 Win

Carolyn Riley (Warrenton, Va.) scored a career-high 25 points to lead the Eastern Mennonite University women's basketball team over Randolph-Macon Women's College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match-up Wednesday night.
EMU improved to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the ODAC while RMWC fell to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
The Lady Royals jumped out to a 34-28 lead after the first half with Riley scoring 17 of her 25 points and junior
Jolene Kratz (Telford, Pa.) and freshman
Ebony Dennis (Baltimore, Md.) each adding five points for the half. Kratz finished the game with eight points and 11 rebounds while Dennis tallied seven points and six boards.
Freshman
Melissa Lewis (Stuarts Draft, Va.) was the second leading scorer for the Lady Royals with nine points while senior
Tara Jones (Richmond, Va.) recorded another seven points, two assists, and two steals for EMU.
The WildCats were led by Katie Rechnitzer who contributed 10 points and two assists with Emily Wade and Sara Rechnitzer ending the game with seven points each in the loss.
EMU outscored RMWC 39-19 in the second half.
The Lady Royals will be back in action on Saturday, December 2, as they host ODAC foe Bridgewater College at 2 p.m. in Yoder Arena.
